(Choeroboscus) ἐτάζω. παρὰ τὸ ἐτεὸν, ὃ σημαίνει τὸ ἀληθὲς, ὁ γὰρ ἐτάζων τὸ ἀληθὲς εὑρίσκει.

(Lentz) ἐτάζω: ὥσπερ παρὰ τὸ μάταιον γίνεται ματαιάζω, οὕτω καὶ παρὰ τὸ ἐτεόν τὸ ἀληθές γίνεται ἐτεάζω τὸ τὴν ἀλήθειαν ἐρευνῶ καὶ ἀποβολῇ τοῦ ε ἐτάζω καὶ ἐξετάζω
