Eunoukhos "eunuch" […] from "to keep" (ekhein) the soundness (eu) of his mind (nou). Or from "to hold" (ekhein), that is, "to keep", the bed (eunēn) pure. Or from heis, henos "one", *enoukhos and eunoukhos, the one who is alone and not united with others

Derivational etymology similar to the one by εὖνις. In fact it is probably the same etymology: the chain is εἷς, ἑνός → *ἑνις → εὖνις → εὖνοῦχος (see εὐνοῦχος / εὖνις). The Gudianum derives directly the lemma εῦνοῦχος from εἷς, the etymon of its etymon (εὖνις), and the etymon itself is missing. The derivational chain is therefore modified and becomes εἷς, ἑνός → *ἑνοῦχος → εὖνοῦχος, with the same addition of /u/ as in εὖνις
