This etymology is found only here. It is probably a mistake due to iotacism on the more common etymology ζα- + ἀγκύλος, which is the only one accounting for the nasal consonant in [zanklon]. The A recension of the Genuinum has this older explanation at the end, thus mixing two different etymologies, the older one (ἀγκύλος) and the erroneous new one (κοῖλος)
