Σημείωσαι δὲ ὡς ἐπὶ ἅρματος μὲν ῥυμὸς λέγεται παρὰ τὸ ῥύω, τὸ ἑλκύω, οὕτω δὲ καὶ ἐπὶ ἀπήνης.

Translation (En)

Note that the pole of a chariot is called rhumos, from rhuō "to draw", and so is the pole of a cart
