Derivational etymology. The wind is named after the effect it allegedly produces. The etymology relies on the phonetic identity between εὖρος and εὐρώς after the loss of distinctive vowel length. The position of accent is usually disregarded by Greek etymologists. The etymology requires that "mould" be considered as a synonym of "sweat", which it is not. However, that kind of loose semantic equivalence was often assumed by Greek etymologists to obtain the suitable etymon
