Derivational etymology, starting from the verbal adjective of εἶμι, which received an active meaning by analogy with πορευτός "walkable", but in Aeschylus "going forward". In the end, the etymology is not different from ἰτέα / εἶμι, but the presentation in later sources seems to imply that the two were viewed as alternative etymologies
