Comment
Compositional etymology, similar to the older one by ἐΰς and ὀρούω (see ἑορτή / ἐΰς + ὀρούω), but with a change of the internal syntax of the compound. In Eustathius' etymology, men do not rush to the good, but the "good rises" in and by the feast, with the structure of the compound being SV (no such compound is attested in Greek but Greek scholars were not sensitive to this problem)
