Comment
Compositional etymology requiring only one formal change, the syncope of the final [ō] in ἔσω. The first member is given as the etymon under its Ionic form ἔσω, closer to the lemma than the Attic εἴσω. The compound is the univerbation of a syntagm εἴσω περᾶν "to cross to the interior", that is, to come home for the night.
