Translation (En)

Kindunos "danger": from "to move" (kineîn) the pains (tas odunas), a *kinēdunos, as it were, and kindunos.

Comment

Compositional etymology defining the word through its consequence: danger results in harm, hence pain (ὀδύνη referring to physical pain). It requires a syncope of the composition vowel, which is given either as [ē] (Choeroboscus) or as [o] (Etym. Gudianum).
