Comment

Compositional etymology, referring to the ritual of the wedding ceremony in which the couple kisses. The interesting element is that the object of the verb φιλέω, assumed as the etymon of the second member, is νύμφη, which is not the etymon in this etymology, but is nevertheless reintroduced, at least semantically, if not formally
