Liaron "warm, mild": khliaron "warm", pleasant. From *lô "to wish", laron, what we wish, as nô "to flow", naron "flowing", lô, laron "sweet", by addition of /I/, liaron. Or hilaron "merry", and by metathesis liaron

Derivational etymology involving a metathesis. The semantic relationship between ἱλαρός "merry" and λιαρός "sweet" is a causal one, the lemma ("merry") is the consequence of the etymon. This etymology found in the Genuinum is completely absent from later Etymologica, and is repeated only in Ps-Zonaras
