Derivational etymology, starting from the future or (here) the aorist form, which provides the radical θρεκ-. Then two formal manipulations are requires (not implicit in Orion), namely, change of the vowel and addition of an /n/. The meaning is derived from the combination preverb+etymon, as the etymon "to run", alone, cannot provide a satisfactory explanation. Yet the preverb περι- is not included in the formal etymology
